1st TV anime based on Shoji Gatoh's light novels debuted in 2002 Shikidouji, the illustrator of Shoji Gatoh's Full Metal Panic! light novel series, revealed on Wednesday that production has been green-lit on a "director's cut" version of the first Full Metal Panic! television anime series from 2002. The director's cut will consist of three films. The anime was originally slated to premiere this fall, but will now premiere in spring 2018. 3 films telling 1st anime season open in November, January The official website for the three-film director's cut anime project for the first season of the Full Metal Panic! television anime series began streaming a teaser video for the project on Saturday. The website also revealed the titles and release dates for the three films. The films will screen in Tokyo at the Kadokawa Cinema Shinjuku and the Tachikawa Cinema City theaters, and in Osaka at the Umeda Burg 7 theater. Each film will screen for one week. The first film, subtitled "Boy Meets Girl," will open on November 25. The second film, subtitled "One Night Stand," will open on January 13, 2018.
