Marvel Announces Weekly Sequel to Avengers: No Surrender

Marvel Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski announced Saturday at the Marvel Comics: Next Big Thing Panel at New York Comic Con that the publisher will launch a sequel to its “Avengers: No Surrender” weekly event in the form of Avengers: No Road Home from the creative team of Mark Waid, Jim Zub, Al Ewing, Paco Medina and Sean Izaakse.

“We’re telling the biggest, craziest Avengers story we can, again,” Zub said. Additionally, Breevort announced a return in the series on par with the return of The Hulk.

“Avengers: No Surrender” ran from Avengers #675-690 and combined the rosters of Avengers, U.S.Avengers and Uncanny Avengers. Waid, Ewing, Zub, Pepe Larraz, Kim Jacinto and Paco Medina were the creative team that saw the Earth stolen as a part of the Grandmaster and Challenger’s cosmic game to see who could outwit the other. The weekly event also saw the return of Bruce Banner/Hulk, the Black Order and a new Lethal Legion, along with the debut of the Grandmaster’s daughter, Voyager, who altered the Avengers’ memory to make herself a founding Avenger.

Marvel didn’t reveal whether “Avengers: No Road Home” would take place in the main Avengers title, currently penned by Jason Aaron, or if it would spin off into a new comic.
