Gerard Way’s Umbrella Academy Will Return for a Third Miniseries

The wait is finally over for fans of Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá’s unique comic book series, The Umbrella Academy — it’s been announced that the Dark Horse comic will return for a third volume, titled Hotel Oblivion.

Entertainment Weekly has exclusively confirmed that the story of the super-family known as the Umbrella Academy will continue with Hotel Oblivion, which is set to be released this fall. This marks quite the return for the series, given that its second volume, Dallas, was released almost 10 years ago.

The Umbrella Academy was co-created by both Way and Bá. It tells the story of a family of adopted super-powered siblings who protect the world from all sorts of crazy threats, like giant mummies and zombie robots. The quirky and inventive comic series proved so popular that Netflix snatched up the rights to produce a live-action television series, the first season of which is set to drop by the end of the year.
