News Crunchyroll Adds Baka and Test, Utawarerumono, Burst Angel to Catalog
All 3 TV anime available streaming now

Crunchyroll announced on Thursday that it has added the Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts, Utawarerumono, and Burst Angel television anime series to its catalog. All three of the titles are available through Crunchyroll's partnership with Funimation.

Both seasons of Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts are available for users in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. Crunchyroll describes the anime:

Fumizuki Academy's students can summon Avatars, pint-sized versions of themselves that battle using special powers. The students are grouped by skill level, and those in Class A are the brightest. Then there's Akihisa Yoshii's group—lowly Class F. They're the worst on campus, and they're about to take on the school's best.

The anime adapts Kenji Inoue and Yui Haga's Baka to Test to Shōkanjū light novel series. The first season aired in 2010, and the second season aired in 2011. The two original video anime (OVA) episodes shipped in 2011.

Funimation released the first series on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in 2011, and then again on DVD in 2014. The company released the second season on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in 2013, and then again on DVD with the OVA episodes in 2014.

Utawarerumono is available for users in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Crunchyroll describes the anime:

After mysterious Hakuoro was left for dead, a girl named Eluluu nursed him back to health. He was welcomed into a barren land of strange creatures, where an angry god seeks vengeance and an oppressive government slaughters the innocent. With a bloody war looming on the horizon, will the masked hero liberate the people who saved him and unlock his elusive memories?

The anime adapting Leaf's adult visual novel of the same name premiered in 2006. An OVA debuted in 2009, and the Utawarerumono: The False Faces television anime series premiered in 2015.

ADV Films originally licensed and dubbed the first Utawarerumono anime, but FUNimation Entertainment later picked up the license. ADV Films released the series on DVD in 2007, and Funimation released it on DVD in 2009. Sentai Filmworks released the Utawarerumono OVA and Utawarerumono: The False Faces with English dubs earlier this year.

Burst Angel is available for users in the United States and Canada. Crunchyroll describes the anime:

The future's looking bleak. It's a good thing there's a new sheriff in town. Her name is Jo and she's an enigma even to herself. Alongside her partners Sei, Amy, and Meg, Jo fights for the citizens who can't defend themselves. Confronting corruption and twisted science, these gals are on fire—and they're the best chance the wounded city's got.

The anime premiered in 2004, followed by the Burst Angel: Infinity OAV in 2007. Funimation first released the television series on DVD in 2005, and then again on DVD in 2007. The company then released the television series and OVA together on DVD in 2008, on Blu-ray Disc in 2009, and again on Blu-ray Disc in 2011.
